A new screening space at the heart of the Venice Film Festival dedicated to exploring the relationship between cinema and the arts, promoted by Isola Edipo in collaboration with the Giornate Degli Autori.
The Story
The project to restore and return the hall to the community stems from an unprecedented collaboration between the Parish of S. Antonio, the Patriarchate of Venice, the social enterprise Edipo Re, the cultural association Giornate Degli Autori, and the construction company Dogale Costruzioni. Completed in 2021, the Sala Laguna project, which enjoyed the patronage of the Veneto Region, the City of Venice, and the generosity with which La Biennale makes the growth and development of essential synergies for the territory around the Film Festival possible every year.
Sala Laguna hosts the Notti Veneziane off-space dedicated to contemporary Italian cinema, as well as other screenings selected under the artistic direction of Silvia Jop and Gaia Furer, along with other screenings, meetings, masterclasses, and debates promoted by the partners involved in the programming throughout the Festival.
